SHE IS STILL ALIVE!
-
Saptarshi Basu
A raindrop falls, hits
the ground, disintegrates and is no more.
The last light of sunlight leaves with a disappointing face.
Imagine
a home in the country
Imagine a garden, rose beds
Think of the sun in the flowers,
Imagine your children playing,
Carefree and happy.
Are the seams in your shirt straight?
Imagine a garden, rose beds
Think of the sun in the flowers,
Imagine your children playing,
Carefree and happy.
Are the seams in your shirt straight?
Imagine a girl who wanted to go home...
Perhaps, just like
you and me
And, as you sit now
in you chair and read
She hasn't reached...she is no more.
I have heard of Auschwitz,
The Nazi Death camp,
The Nazi Death camp,
Where smell
of death hangs in the air
Where
men, women, children were once burnt alive
Auschwitz
is still alive,
In a
country with garden and rose beds,
In a
country with sun in the flowers,
In a
country where she is still alive
